I received an acknowledgement back saying that the client's tax payment was not accepted. The client wants to pay by check. But the program did not print a 1040-V. What do I do?

There have been some false messages with direct debit (assuming it was scheduled on April 15th or earlier), are you seeing the rejected message on the Form 9325?
If so, you should call in to be sure it was actually rejected. Call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about or cancel your payment.
