I am working on a Nonresident return for South Carolina. When completing Schedule NR, the deduction for their dependent exemption is subtracting in full ($4,300 per dependent) from their South Carolina income vs. prorating based upon income earned in South Carolina. Client has 3 dependents, with the $12,900 deduction, eliminates any nonresident income. This is my first time working on a South Carolina Nonresident return, just doesn't seem to make sense they would allow the full dependent deduction on a nonresident return without prorating. I reviewed the instructions and they don't mention prorating either. Was hoping to get confirmation from someone that has worked on one of these returns before. Thanks, Dan
