Since the IRS changed the due date for 2020 returns why won't the software allow the 05/17/2021 date for the electronic withdrawal of the balance due?

I have that problem right now too. I have a taxpayer that needs to pay NJ. I guess that’s another update

It took IRS a few weeks to change their programming to allow for the new due date last year, Intuit should follow soon after that.

Simple fix to this.

Print out fhe 1040-V form and have the client write out a check.

You could even hold the checks for your client and take on the liability and responsibility for mailing them all on time if you wish.
