I’m not sure how to report this type of behavior so just tossing out to the community.
If you don't check “Was the mortgage interest reported to you on form 1098” on the Deductible Home Mortgage Interest Worksheet, Proseries Basic 50 adds the Mortgage Interest to both lines 8a & 8b on Sch A – This is clearly incorrect and causes an overstatement of the amount of mortgage interest paid.
