Reporting foreign account on NY IT-203

I have a person filing IT-203 as a part year NY resident for 4 months. The rest of the year he was out of the country and had a bank account there.

At the top of IT-203 page 1, question D1 reads "did you have a financial account located in a foreign country?" I would like to mark it yes for accuracy (not sure what this entails but I don't want to omit anything), but the value is automatically calculated. And as of now it is marked "no."

How do I change this so that it is correct?

The federal Schedule B has the same question. Try answering it there and see if it also populates for NY.

Bingo! thanks

He has no investment income and therefore no Schedule B, so it would never occur to me to do this. Not exactly a model of good programming...
