W2 difficulty care payents

I have a client who is taking care of his disabled son and receives difficulty care payments from medicare.  The w-2 boxes are all zero.. except box 14 has 2014-7 income and the amount received.

Do I just the put care payments in box 1 and deduct on Schedule 1 line 8? IF not how do I show it's 'earned' income for EIC purposes?
