I have a client who filed a paper extension (Form 4868) with a check in early June. Check was cashed by IRS on June 5. She has now received a notice from the IRS that extension was rejected because it was late. Which is a load of BS. Texas has until June 15th.
Anyone else in the Disaster Areas have this come up?
I am certain we will prevail, however, I can't believe this has been such a screwed up year with the IRS.
Then again, maybe I can.
