Form 8879 line 4 refund amount is not the same as line 22 on 1040x

Why does the form 8879 show $338 and Amended 1040x refund amount is $386.

$386 should be correct as the original return they paid $48, so it's added back to produce the $386 refund, but why form 8879 shows different amount when this is also what the client is signing and authorizing?

On the home base, efile center, it also shows the amount of refund $338, i think it's wrong and should be $386 exactly what the 1040x line 21/22 indicates. Any thoughts?

so 338 is the difference between the original and the amended?

they already got the 48 and they get 338 more on the amended for a total refund of 386.

Wait, have you marked the 1040X to be Efiled on the fed info worksheet yet?  I had one the other day that the 8879 was weird until I checked the EF box, then it matched the 1040x.

EF is marked for efile. taxpayer Paid the $48 ( not refunded, but they paid in the original return)

Did you check that line 16 on the 1040x has the original amount paid listed? if not input the $48 previously paid and then it should work.
