entering date of death

clients filed a timely extension 4868 on their own or 2019. Husband died  on 7/20/2020. When I entered that date today August 24, 2020 I got an error that the date can not be after 7/15/2020. Why? Should I just override?

Are you entering today's date as date of death or are you trying to enter today's date as something to do with the extension date?

Over the years I have seen that being dead can be an issue with ProSeries.  This is the latest discussion on the matter:

I shall do my best to avoid this issue, although being surrounded by wild fires I may not have any choice. If I do die, please try to reinstall my software.

Buy some scuba gear, fill up your bathtub, and hop in ----------------------- we really don't want to have to reinstall your software, so stay safe.  🚒
