Automatic dating of Form 8879

James P

Form 8879 (California) automatically inserts the date in Part III.

How do I get the Federal Form 8879 to do the same?

Also, is there a way I can get both forms to insert my name in the area "ERO's signature"?

On the federal 8879 you would need to.open the form and in part II there is a box to check to generate date.  I don't think you can print the name.

You must check both boxes on the 8879 to have generate today date and your name or your firm name on the firm.

My mistake ...

To be exact... Go to Tools >>> Options >>> Firm/Preparer Info ... Make sure you check the box.
