The only fix is to enter the data again - don’t shoot the messenger.

This is what ProSeries says:

Tax Year 2018 State Requirements for Transfer of Driver’s License and State Tax IDs on W-2s

For Tax Year 2018, state requirements for transferring data, such as Driver’s License and state Tax Withholding IDs, have been updated.  New this year, most state agencies  will allow the year-over-year transfer of this data.  Only two states - Alabama, and New York - will not allow the transfer of this information from the 2017 tax program into the 2018 program.

What does this mean for me?
During the transfer of data from the 2017 program to 2018, many states will allow the transfer of certain data, such as Driver's License Numbers and State Tax Withholding Account Numbers on W-2s, 1099s, etc. with an additional verification step.  This verification step is on the Identity Verification Worksheet.

There are only two states for Tax Year 2018 that  will not allow the transfer of data.  These states will require that DL numbers and W-2/1099 state withholding ID numbers be re-entered into the 2018 program.  These states are:   Alabama, and New York.

I would uninstall ProSeries and reinstall the program and then do your transfers to see if that corrects it.

Couple of years ago W-2 State Employer ID# did not transfer.  So I opened PS new year and old year and cut and pasted on that dreary Jan day.  Wasted time, but got it done with no typos
