Intuit Link - Client Login Problem

A client trying to login this year is being required to authenticate through an old mobile number. How do change this to his new number in Link? I've since already deleted his 2020 tax information originally rolled over from 2019, fixed his number in 2019 and re-transferred to 2020, and sent a new Link invitation. The client is still being asked to authenticate with the old number even though the Client Details only has the new number.
