I GO INTO A STATE TAX RETURN AND THE FEDERAL FORMS BAR DOES NOT CHANGE TO THE STATE. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO FIX THIS WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Bounce back and forth between fed and state again...happens to me from time to time as well.

I've experienced the same problem. I go back and forth between the federal and state returns and/or close that particular client and reopen them.  After that I usually do not see the problem reappear with that particular client.
