So what are people using for data entry, going to forms and entering the data and letting it flow to the new schedules, or just going to the new schedules?

I would typically enter from the 1040 and dive in. Im not sure what my tactics will be for this year. Time will tell.

That's what I used to do, just start at the top of the 1040 and work my way down.   With the 1040 all jacked up looking now...I'm feeling like it will be less scrolling and clicks to just open the form needed.

Between the 1040 worksheet and 1040, I feel like I get lost and don't know where I am in the return...I cant seem to get my bearings and know which direction to scroll to find what I'm looking for.  (I didn't upgrade last week, did those 1040 changes that Ashley was referring to get implemented?)

I don’t think they did Lis. I did a test yesterday and you are correct, everything is too herky-jerky. I couldn’t get a flow going. I may end up going directly to forms and then check my work at the end. It seems every time i hit the back button it takes me back to client worksheet. I wonder if intuit had any tax specialists test these new layouts or were they just programmers doing their thing???

learning to do returns as I did manually years ago, then Parsons Personal Tax Edge, then ProSeries I always worked down the 1040, tunneling down, which PS calls Quick Zooming to any appropriate backup schedule or form.  That flow seems logical to me and reinforces tax knowledge and how info flows.  The new layout, to me at least, is lacking that flow and logic.

Herky-jerky is a good description. I detest the 1040 worksheet. Perhaps go to the old routine next year?

I'll get things back on track and vote for going to the forms that are needed.

They just took that picture of me last week.  I'm surprised to see it is out in public already.
