I have 2 clients that died in 2022 whose Estates will need to file Form 706. One died in January and the other in April. The 706 form will be due in October for the person that died in January. When I type his date of death on my Estate Tax software and error code comes up saying I can not use the 2021 software for person that dies in 2022. By the time nest year's software is available, the return will be late. Any suggestions?

That would work but I think I will just use the 2021 Form 706 and do a paper filing. It looks like the calculations would be correct even if I used the 2021 Form 706 for a client that died in 2022.
