I've got a return that has both federal and state refunds. Our fees are larger than federal refund (prior balance included) so I get an error. Is there a work around so that fees can come out of both refunds? I spoke with Santa Barbara and told that they couldn't do anything on their end so call Pro Series. Hoping someone has had this situation and can help.

How about just having the client give you a check, cash or money order (or I guess bitcoin is also an option these days). You don't have any clients that file balance due returns?

If they don't have enough federal refund to pay you, they need to come up with some other form of payment.
