EIC and Economic Stimulus

Level 1

y does the EIC credit disappear if you input 0 amounts for stimulus received. You get the stimulus but the EIC does not calculate.

It is not supposed to do that.

Have you double checked that is what is happening?  There is $0 of EIC on the tax return?  And what if you enter that the taxpayer received the full amount of stimulus, does it then show an amount for EIC?

Yes, it is giving a 0 amount for EIC but allowing a refund of the unreceived stimulus and any withholding.

Whose tax return is this? Is that person able to be claimed as a dependent by someone else? Are you trying to use the lookback provision?
