Efiling 1040X with pdf

is Efile 1040x mandatory if the original 1040 was E filed?

And, can pdf be attached with amended 1040X? If yes, will the pdf with the original 1040 not be efiled ?

I researched but could not find a definitive answer.

No, it is not mandatory to e-file the amended return.

Yes, you should be able to attach a PDF.  But you are NOT supposed to include the original 1040 with any amended return.

IRS already has the original 1040, you wouldnt need to attach a PDF of it to the Efiled amended return.

or maybe Im misunderstanding what you mean...what are you trying to accomplish?

I will be attaching a revised Shareholder Basis statement due to the 1120S K-1 was amended. Of course, I will not want the original pdf attached to the amended 1040.

With paper 1040X's, we're supposed to attach the forms which changed as a result of the correction(s). But Lacerte does not offer 1040X as a form which can be attached to.  ????
