Should a tax practitioner indicate his return is self prepared? Or should he sign it as the taxpayer and tax preparer?

Do I prepare my own return using the ProSeries professional software? Do I sign as preparer as well?  Or is it best to use the Turbotax and have my return marked as Self-Prepared?

Does PS not permit a self-prepared designation? I always mark my own return self-prepared in Lacerte.

But I've heard there are issues with efiling a return marked self prepared in ProSeries. No issues with Lacerte.

I think there are issues in ProSeries but I can't remember what they are.

I've always signed mine as a paid preparer...looks kinda hokey with that big Self Prepared designation in the box.
