Do firms that use ProSeries need to pay to file using the software they purchased to use for their clients? It seems ProSeries should allow the firms to file free.

Depends on which package you purchased.

Some are unlimited, some are Pay Per Return.

If you purchase Basic unlimited, but need to use Professional to file a business entity return, you will Pay Per Return for that business return with Professional.

What planet do you live on?

I file 1040 and sch. C for myself. If I had pay per return, that counts as one.

Seems like a reasonable question to me.  "Similar to KFC, hourly employees at McDonald's who decide to do a full shift are eligible for 1 full meal. To make things better, they have the freedom to choose what they want for their meal (except for menu items from McCafe)."

So there's no free lunch at Intuit.  But can't blame him for asking.
