A client owe taxes in 2020 but he didnt received his EIP1 or 2. Does the IRS will deducted from his taxes to pay his debt with them?
i understood they wont.
My understanding is they won't for the EIP, but if the 1040 has a refund they'll take it.
They wouldnt take the advances, but now it a refundable credit on the tax return and fair game.
See discussion in last four paragraphs of how IRS could decide not to do this, but hasn't yet.
