IF A PERSON ON SOCIAL SECURITY IS CLAIMED BY HIS SISTER AS A DEPENDENT ON HER INCOME TAX RETURN, WILL THAT DISQUALIFY THE SOCIAL SECURITY RECIPIENT OF HIS $1,200 STIMULUS CHECK?

nobody knows how it will work...probably not even they people that wrote the law.

Yes (according to the current law, but that could change).

A dependent is not an "eligible individual".

Is a person on welfare with no other income an eligible individual?  Theyre a dependent of the government.

@Just-Lisa-Now- They are a dependent of the person that made the post. The person stated so. Dependent gets $1,000 per month and stays with sister in their $4,000 per month house with utilities, food and other trivial expenses. SS recipient is NOT a dependent of the state.

I didnt really read the ALL CAPS post, I was commenting on Bills post....is someone thats a dependent of the government on welfare an eligible recipient?
