how can we find advantage for MFJ vs Married filing separate return for married couple ? do we have to p reaper two returns for comparison ?

Married couple wants to find what is better to file joint  or  separate Do we have to prepare two returns or by preparing Joint return we can find what is difference

Proseries Professional has two features - in the Forms list is a MFJ-MFS worksheet which calculates (okay, not great) Federal numbers.  Also in Home Base we can (in the File Menu) split the returns.  both require you to out in T, S or J into each line.  Cannot answer about Basic options.

You can use the "What if" worksheet in ProSeries Basic. Go to the Forms Tab, then Find Form and type in What if.
