Can Form 8855 be mailed in separately from it's e filed 1041 tax return?

I made the section 645 election, which requires a paper filing for form 8855. Can I electronically file the associated form 1041 with the election box checked and paper mail in the form 8855? And do I also need to import  a PDF copy of the signed 8855 into the form 1041 e filed tax return?

The instructions say to mail as a standalone form, and no copy is required to be sent with 1041. See link:

Yes, that works. I got somewhat confused by an error message from Proseries when I filled out that Form 8855 and tried to electronically file it with the Form 1041. That error message said I would have to file the 1041 return by paper if I was also filing the Form 8855 with that return. The instructions do show a specific address to file that Form 8855, which cannot be electronically filed. I will do that and then file the 1041 without the Form 8855 and make sure I check the box for the Section 645 election. Thanks.
