Comment: CA PTE tax balance due payment in Software. Is it correct?
1st it would be nice if Form 3893 (PTE payment voucher) was available for those who do not have to pay electronically.
My main issue is that the balance due for the PTE tax shows up on form 3586 (balance due for the entity). This is what I fear will happen. The FTB will apply the payment to any balance due for the entity and refund the difference. (PTE tax was not paid on Form 3893, thus payment was not made).
At least it would be nice to have Form 3893 in the software, for those who still mail in checks.
When you pay on-line: You pay the entity tax. You pay the PTE tax. Two transactions. In the software it is one transaction.
