Amending a 2019 return that I didn't prepare

Good afternoon all,

I am working on a simple amendment, I think ;-), to a 2019 return that I didn't complete. The client has provided the IRS transcript. I read through the instructions, and I am still unclear. It looked like on the 1040X I could just check the 2019 box, but then the form still only wants to accept 2020 information. Do I need to open ProSeries 2019 to complete? Clear as mud, lol.

Thank you,

Dawn

You need the 2019 program. They just have multiple years on the 1040X so they dont have to issue a new form each year.

Thank you!!

This one has been interesting. Not only did the client struggle with the 1095-C, he completely omitted a 2k IRA withdrawal, as a 30 year old. 😉

Now I need to consider the impact to his state returns!

Sigh,
