So I am working on streamlining for next tax season and am curious to the community's experience with 1099dropoff.com vs Importing Client Data from PDFs in ProSeries.
Have either improved enough to merit the time spent (and in the case of the PDFs $10/per return fee)?
I tried the freebie import feature with a fairly simple 1099 and it worked well enough but not sure it can handle the bigger files and clients with more complicated documents with multiple 1098s, 1099s, etc.
Also, do you see a difference in the abilities of the program on a scanned PDF vs a PDF generated directly from the brokerage?
Thanks so much for any feedback.
