1095-A

Hi,

I could not e-file because I got this error message "The e-File database indicates that Form 8962 or a binary attachment with description containing "ACA Explanation" must be present in the return."

Then I asked the client if she had health insurance that she bought from the market place (Obamacare) that requires a form 1095-A. She said no, and she sent me a 1095-B. In 2022 she only had Medicaid (medical insurance for low income).

What do I do now? Can I fake a 1095-A with same amount across 3 columns?

Another option is to mail it with USPS.

Thanks for your help,

Yung

They need to call the heathcare.gov and see what they have on file for them, they may have signed up and been switched to Medicaid, but IRS sees something with their SSN (or another SSN on their return) from the marketplace, they need to find out whats out there.
