Where to enter state wages that were not included on a W2

Client received a W2 that left the state wages box and state tax withheld box bank (and no state taxes were withheld).

I have determined that the income is taxable to Alabama (their resident state) and was earned while they lived in AL.

The employer is not going to change the W2.

Is it okay to enter this income in the W2 input and code it to AL so that it pulls to line 5b of Alabama form 40? Or should it be entered as Other Income and show on line 7 of Alabama form 40?

W2 income is Wages and not "other." You might see an allocation to more than one State in that section, but you don't seem to have anything other than regular Wages.

Thank you I agree!

I was second guessing myself because I didn't want to "alter" the W2 amounts.
