2019 Form 709 Gift Tax Return

CarolS

I'm trying to generate a 2019 Form 709 Gift Tax Return in Proconnect Tax Online.

I started by creating a new return. In the tax type area I selected "Gift" but for the year it only allows me to select 2018, 2017 or 2016. How can I generate a form 709 gift tax return for 2019?

Thanks!

I'm having the same problem finding the 2019 gift tax return on Proconnect Tax Online.  The latest year available is 2018.  I will call them tomorrow and see what support says.  Has anyone asked technical support about this?

I have been calling weekly and now they say the 709 Gift Tax Return will be available by the end of March .  Hope so!

If you need this form as well, maybe call too so they have more requests.  Thanks!

Good luck with that. I expect they are going to be a little busy with the new law just passed. And now gift tax returns are extended til July 15, too, so I predict the "will be available by the end of March" ain't gonna happen.

My understanding is the income tax returns have an extended deadline but not the following:

Estate and gift taxes, excise taxes, payroll taxes, and information returns such as 1099 forms do not qualify for the July 15 delay. What's more, tax items that didn't regularly have April 15 deadlines don't qualify.

Gift taxes are not mentioned here in the IRS new deadline:

Maybe you have something after this?

I didn't want to wait so I did a 2018 gift tax return and then converted it to 2019 copying the numbers to a fill-in PDF off irs.gov.  It's not much to it, just increase the lifetime exemption a little.  If you're desperate, you might try this.

I was thinking that and should have probably just done that 🙂  Well, I will give it a few more days and see.  Thanks!
