Setting Trustee Rights to Grant or Revoke User Access to a Program Feature

How do I set Trustee Rights in Lacerte in order to grant or revoke a user's access to a specific program feature?

Solution

The Lacerte Tax program allows network administrators the ability to grant and revoke user's rights to a program feature.  Trustee Rights will grant or revoke a user's access to specific features in the program, available in the program settings.  This is not the same as overall program access.

Note: The Trustee Rights tab is only available if you have a network license.

This article explains What Trustee Rights Mean, How to Grant or Revoke Rights to a Network User, and How to Delete a User from Trustee Rights.

View the Trustee Rights information in the Primary Options.
  1. Go to Settings menu and select Primary Options.
  2. Click on the Trustee Rights tab.
  3. Compare the function of each trustee right to your current settings, and make any desired changes to your current configuration.
Feature When enabled, allows the user to...
Program Access Start each of the nine Lacerte Tax program modules: Individual, Partnership, Corporation, S-Corporation, Fiduciary, Estate, Gift, Benefit Plan, and Exempt Organization. If this option is disabled, the user cannot start the Lacerte Tax program(s).
