Setting up users, passwords, and user access in EasyACCT
by Intuit• 1• Updated 1 year ago
How to set up System-level and Company-level users and passwords, assign supervisory rights, or restrict user access to specific functions and modules.
Before you start:
You must have supervisory rights to set up new users and passwords, or assign access, including for new supervisors.
- System-level access prompts the user for a User ID and Password when starting the program.
- Company-level access prompts the user for a User ID and Password when entering a Company.
- Company-level passwords can be used without setting up System-level passwords (they work independently of each other).
- If the user has both a Company-level and a matching System-level password, they will only be prompted for their User ID and Password when starting the program.
Follow these steps:
- From the Company Selection screen, select System > System Utilities > Access Authorization.
- Enter a unique User ID.
- Enter a User Name.
- Enter a Password.
- Check the box User has supervisory rights (a supervisor has rights to all System-level functions of the program and controls which users have access to the various utilities).
- If the user will not have supervisory rights, check the specific system functions the user can access. Otherwise, proceed to the next step.
- Check all system functions.
- Repeat steps for each user.
Follow these steps:
- Open the Company.
- Select Go to > Company Authorization.
- Company-level authorization must be assigned on a per company basis
- Enter a unique User ID.
- Enter a User Name.
- Enter a Password.
- Check the box User has supervisory rights (a supervisor has rights to all Company-level functions and controls which users have access to the various modules in the company).
- If the user will not have supervisory rights, check the specific modules and utilities the user can access. Otherwise, go to the next step.
- Check all items.
- Repeat steps for each user.
- If you need to delete a user, access the User ID and select Delete.
