BRING BACK NEGATIVE NUMBER ENTRIES IN Cntrl-E Sections!

ER_TAX

I use negative entries frequently in 'don't print' sections of Control-E supporting detail worksheets, and now I'm getting error messages which make this not possible.  This was perhaps an 'upgrade' to prevent errors, but I see it as a decrease in the usability of the software I'm paying a lot of money for! Please make an option to remove this error message and allow negative numbers!

Discussion thread:

In order to conform with Federal and state agency requirements and also to achieve high e-file acceptance rates, we are unable to make blanket program changes to allow negative numbers on all input fields.

However, we can look on a case-by-case basis at selected input fields within the software to determine if changes could be made which do not conflict with either Federal and/or state requirements for both print and electronic filing.

In order to review, please provide the following information in the thread Supporting Detail doesn't allow negative numbers per line:
-Tax module (Individual, Partnership, etc.)
-Agency (Federal) (State)
-Screen Number
-Input field Description
-Code Number.

(Screen Number, Section Description and Code Number can be obtained by clicking on an input field and pressing F1.)

Thank you for your time.

Hey @ER_TAX - this is a good idea. There is another suggestion already on this Lacerte Tax Exchange by @akap here: https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/lacerte-tax-idea-exchange/negative-numbers-should-be-allowed...
