attaching forms that are already in the 1040 tax return

Why do you need to attach forms that are already in the tax return. EX Form 7203, and 1116B. They are already included in the tax return, you should NOT have to make them a PDF and attach them also. This is new in 2021 software.

I'm guessing they didn't quite finish all of the programming when they "rushed" those forms out.

It may depend on the form but a lot of it this year has to do with the IRS not programming a schema for efiling this information.  So it's not "already in the tax return" until it's attached as a PDF.

But apparently these new forms were so very important to include this year even though none of the information on them will be processed by a computer nor will they be looked at by a human unless an audit comes up.

I'm ready for a new IRS Commissioner . . .
