Does anyone know if Lacerte updates the local tax rates in the software or does it need to be keyed into each return?

There's no way the software could update ALL the local rates.

You can enter it in the options, if all your clients are in one *local* area.  Otherwise you'll need to do it on a client by client basis if they live in different areas with different rates.
