Recovery rebate credit dependents

Is the recovery rebate credit for the dependents added to the amount for the taxpayer when inputting amounts.  Also there was suppose to be a place for taxpreparers to look up amounts if they do not have the notice. does anyone know anything about that?

thx

Yes.

The Instructions for Form 1040 point taxpayers to pull up their "Tax Account" on this website:

As @TaxGuyBill said the IRS points taxpayers to. The Taxpayer needs to establish an account and log on to "Get Transcript" once they get there they need to select 2020 Account Transcript and the payments will show there. It is quite a task for many taxpayers to go through. There is no way for the preparer to do this without a POA.

I did look my estimated payments and the EIP (Stimulus) payments received.

Yea. I can see this not happening.

I guess some security/privacy issues prevent them from having a lookup tool we can use like they did for the last stimulus payment.
