If CA form 540 itemizes but federal is standard deduction, how to get form 8283 to print? CA requires it. Is there a way to force it to print for CA?

You have to force the Schedule A for federal to generate the 8283. Print the 8283 to PDF. Then remove the entry to force the Schedule A, and attach the 8283 for the CA return on screen 4.

Thanks for your reply. I tried to force with several different code fields.  It would not produce the Sched A. Also tried attaching a pdf of F8283.  CA will not accept regardless of what form I try to attach to, federal and or state. Gave up. Advised client if FTB wants the form, they'll request it.  One of many glitches with federal standard deduc and state itemizing.
