Federal? Why would you want to do this?
Screen 38 > Earned Income Credit > Earned income credit (EIC) [O]> enter -1 for a zero.

They have been disallowed last year for EIC.  It appears one cannot claim again for 2 years and then they must file 8862? Is this not correct?

While your response did work it seems as it is not clear:

 

1=print "no" and 2= suppress. "1" works but it seems as "2" would be correct. Just saying :

1 To Print No on Form 1040, 2 to Suppress [O]
Earned Income Credit Screen 38; Code 58


The program prints "No" on the earned income credit line of Form 1040 according to the IRS instructions. Enter 1 to force "No" to print regardless of the instructions, or enter 2 to suppress "No" from printing.
