We moved our offices recently, updated our address with IRS E-Services and submitted the info to Lacerte to update our address in the prep files for our software. The prep files for 2016-2019 work correctly. If I install prep files for years prior to 2016, it changes our client number to 100000 and removes our firm name and address. I also get pop up windows saying the software is not registered. After 2 hours on the phone with support, I learned that Lacerte is no longer updating earlier prep files. Has anyone figured out a work-around for this? We frequently have to file returns for 10 years back for a local attorney. Whiting out and typing in addresses does not seem like much of an option...
