Membership fees to learn real estate education

do you think you can deduct upfront membership fee to Lifestyles Unlimited that is a mentor and real estate group teaching you how to get rich? This is for a real estate broker looking to expand his business into other areas. It is a pretty large upfront fee.

It is either education for a change in occupation which is not deductible.

It might be an investment expense, but that went the way of the dodo bird on Schedule A, miscellaneous.

hence my answer of NO

Sounds like they are teaching how they get rich from suckers that want to be rich.  George posted while I was posting so i’ll go with his “no” vote unless you provide me more info to convince me to vote in the other direction.
