@michelethank you for posting in the community. Most of the time the error that you are receiving is damage in the database for the tax module you are in. Please take a look at this knowledge base (bring the data local, make sure you have a backup of it and then follow the knowledge base):

If this keeps happening, then I would ask your IT to check the exclusions for your antivirus, firewall, scanning/backup software and here is the knowledge base for configuring the software:

I have tried all the above and have spent hours And several times with Lacerte tech And the problem is only temporary fixed. Every time There is an update I feel sick not sure if after the update the Fatal error will return. This year is the worst, I have been using Lacerte for over 25 years and am very disappointed this year. May need to look for other software.
When there is an update, don't run it. You are given that option. Exit the program and hit the windows key and type 2019 Lacerte Web Setup and run that. It is much cleaner.
