Hello all,
I see a few threads about suppression PTINS and EFIN. Does anyone suppress the EFIN? I did in UltraTax and cannot figure out how to do it in Lacerte.
Thanks in advance,
Aaron

@sjrcpa should be able to confirm the answer to whether it is possible and why one might want to. I do not believe it can be suppressed.

I don't think you can.
You'd want to because nefarious people steal them and file fraudulent returns under them. Happened to me. Got a nastygram from Arizona. Ended up getting a new EFIN and was able to resolve issue with Arizona.

Thanks for the reply. It does seem odd that its not suppressed if it is so important to protect it.
