i can't get the personal data files to populate in the software program. they exit on the hard drive.

I see that this is your first question, so a few items to clarify:
What year?
How did the idata file get there? Backup? Proforma? Drag and drop?
Are you sure that the data path is set correctly? (Press F10 to verify)
