Hi All,
If any of you are having an issue where you print a tax return, select client copy, uncheck printer and only select File (PDF) then save it and it shows up as 0kb then you can't delete it without rebooting the issue was caused by Acronis. We tried the PDF printer repair tool solution multiple times but Acronis was the root cause locking the files. This also was the cause of esignature issues as well.
The fix was the following...
- Download the offline installer
- Login to Acronis console>Click Devices>Add>Offline installer for windows
- Execute the installation file and modify the installation uncheck the "Agent for Data Loss Prevention" and proceed.

The Acronis RnD team was able to reproduce the issue and it becomes a known issue and they would work on it and the fix would be available in an upcoming version c21.06.
RnD team suggested a workaround:
1. Disable dl hooks from the registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SmartLine Vision\DeviceLock]
"hookerdisabled"=dword:00000001
2. Change parameter from "start printing after last page is spooled" to "Print directly to the printer" in printer settings on the Lacerte Tax PDF Printer Properties on the Advanced Tab.
