Act 26 of the 2020 Second Extraordinary Session, when will it be ready

Act 26 in Louisiana corrected the injustice for casualty loss claims for hurricanes Laura and Delta on Louisiana tax returns and Lacerte has to code their software to accommodate the passage of this bill.  When will this be ready so returns can be finished before the filing deadline

You seem to be asking about something signed into law and effective Oct. 28, 2020. Your program doesn't reflect this? Are you sure you have the update to the latest release?

This is the matter that I am trying to see when Lacerte will have their program ready:

Revenue Information Bulletin No. 21-011
April 8, 2021
Individual Income Tax
Adjustments to the Federal Income Tax Deduction for
Individuals Impacted by Hurricane Laura or Hurricane Delta
Act 26 of the 2020 Second Extraordinary Session

This was done in 2021, not 2020.

Original title: "Act 26 of the 2020 Second Extraordinary Session"

From the web: "Session Information for the 2020 Second Extraordinary Session

Convened on Monday, September 28, 2020  -  Final Adjournment on Friday, October 23, 2020"

"Louisiana individuals are generally not required to file amended 2019 Louisiana income
tax returns if the only reason for the amended federal income tax return was to claim the
federal relief provisions for personal casualty losses related to Hurricane Laura or
Hurricane Delta.

However, taxpayers may amend their Louisiana individual income tax returns to claim a
larger excess federal itemized personal deduction allowed pursuant to R.S.
47:293(9)(a)(xi)2 and claim the additional refund that may be due. The original federal
income tax liability remains the same on the amended Louisiana return.3

For taxpayers claiming the personal casualty losses related to Hurricane Laura or
Hurricane Delta on the 2020 federal individual income tax return, when completing the
2020 Louisiana individual income tax return, the taxpayer will compute the federal return
without the personal casualty loss and report that federal income tax liability as the federal income tax deduction."

Now that this is clarified, perhaps: "When will this be ready so returns can be finished before the filing deadline"

"Finished" for something that changed in October of 2020? Did you look at the updates and confirm you are running the latest? Another has come out since you first posted this topic, as well.

If you still have trouble after updating: What specifically is the issue? Are you trying to amend Fed? State? Override a field? This is not Tech Support or Customer Support, but your Peer Users, who might be able to help, if there is a specific issue you are having.
