
Using Client Notes and Sticky Notes in Lacerte

You can use both Sticky Notes and Client Notes to remind you of a certain task, form, or client. You can make them client-specific or general to all forms within all clients. The chart below will help you decide which is best for the note you need to add:

Follow these steps to create a new Sticky Note or Client Note in the program:
- Drag and drop the
from the toolbar where you want the note.
- Type your text in the Add new note field.
- You can't change the font size, font type, or color of the note.
- If this note is for the tax program or for more than one client, remove the check next to Client Specific to make it a Sticky Note.
- If the note is just for one client, check the Client Specific box to make it a Client Note.
- The Client Specific checkbox is only available in the Forms tab.
- Click OK.
Follow these steps to edit an existing note:
- Click on
in the toolbar.
- Under Notes Type, select the Sticky Notes or Client Notes tab.
- To display notes that apply to all clients, select the Sticky Notes tab.
- To display notes specific to the client selected, select the Client Notes tab.
- Select the note you want to edit.
- Click the Edit note button.
- Make any desired changes and click OK.
- You can't change the font size, font type, or color of the note.
- Click Close.
If you want to delete a note, follow steps 1-3 but click the Delete note button instead.
