Ref. 4513 in ProConnect - The employer identification number (EIN) is invalid

SOLVEDby Intuit25Updated almost 2 years ago

The following critical diagnostic is generating:

The employer identification number (EIN) is invalid. The firm's EIN should be nine digits, and cannot be all zeros or all nines. Check and verify the entry. (Ref #4513)

Follow these steps to resolve the diagnostic for e-filing:

  1. Click Settings in the lower left of the program.
  2. Select Firm Information.
  3. Click the pencil icon to edit.
  4. Remove your SSN from the Federal ID # field.

The Firm EIN and taxpayer SSN can't be the same number, as this will cause an e-file rejection.
