Previously Deleted Dependent is Generating Missing Information Diagnostics

e-file: Dependent #X: First name missing or invalid. (ref. #340) e-file: Dependent #X: Social security number missing. (ref. #342) e-file: Dependent #X: Date of birth missing. (ref. #345) e-file: Dependent #X: Relationship missing. (ref. #348) e-file: Dependent #X: Relationship is invalid. The following are valid relationships - Son, Daughter, Foster Child, Grandchild, Grandparent, Parent, Brother, Sister, Aunt, Uncle, Nephew, Niece, Stepchild, Half Brother, Half Sister, Stepbrother, Stepsister, None or Other. (ref. #349)

After deleting the only dependent on Screen 2, the following diagnostics appear,

e-file:  Dependent #X:  First name missing or invalid. (ref. 340)

e-file:  Dependent #X:  Social security number missing.  (ref. 342)

e-file:  Dependent #X:  Date of birth missing. (ref. 345)

e-file:  Dependent #X:  Relationship missing. (ref. 348)

e-file:  Dependent #X:  Relationship is invalid.  The following are valid relationships - Son, Daughter, Foster Child, Grandchild, Grandparent, Parent, Brother, Sister, Aunt, Uncle, Nephew, Niece, Stepchild, Half Brother, Half Sister, Stepbrother, Stepsister, None or Other. (ref. 349)

In some situations, previously deleted dependent information may not have been completely deleted from Screen 2, Dependent Information.  The following solutions will help you clear these diagnostics;

To Turn Off the Input Warnings:

1. Click on Settings
2. Click on Options
3. Select the Setup tab
4. Select No from the Show Input Warnings in the Detail Tab drop-down menu under the Program Options section
5. Click OK

To Delete the Dependent:

1. Go to Screen 2, Dependents
2. Select the Dependent from the left navigation panel
3. Click on Delete from the left navigation panel
4. Click OK
5. Click on the Clients tab
6. Re-open the client file
7. Click on the Diagnostics tab

Turning On the Input Warnings (Once Diagnostics Have Been Cleared):

1. Click on Settings
2. Click on Options
3. Select the Setup tab
4. Select Yes from the Show Input Warnings in the Detail Tab drop-down menu under the Program Options section 
5. Click OK
