Troubleshooting Lacerte diagnostic ref. 2009263 - Depreciation asset sent to nonexistent form or schedule

SOLVEDby Intuit3Updated November 17, 2023

The following critical diagnostic is generating:

  • Depreciation asset #X: sent to nonexistent form or schedule. (ref. #2009263)

This diagnostic will generate when an asset on the Depreciation screen is associated or linked to a form or activity which has been removed. While the diagnostic will not prevent e-filing of the return, you may want to review the information for assets entered:.

Follow these steps to review the information for the assets entered:

  1. Go to the Depreciation screen for your tax type:
    • Screen 22 (Individual)
    • Screen 14 (Partnership)
    • Screen 21 (Corporate)
    • Screen 16 (S Corporate)
    • Screen 27 (Fiduciary)
    • Screen 39 (Exempt Organization)
  2. Make sure the Form (Ctrl+T) (code 18) is accurate.
  3. Make sure the Activity name or number (code 19) is accurate.
