Absolutely right.  Prior to the 2020 tax season, the email entered on the Federal Information Worksheet did not automatically populate onto Form 1040.  Privacy and information security being what they are, the email entered on the client worksheet should only be transferred as an option.  The default setting should be to leave that information blank, just like telephone numbers.
